We are making a few changes this year….The increasingly popular Mini McQueen is being introduced to the Phoenix for the first time as a full event and will be shot on Time Limit Range throughout the weekend. Once again we are very grateful to Cornelius Schalkwyk for coming up with this excellent system.
As a result of this new event on Time Limit, the Bianchi Practical Match will no longer form part of the Bianchi event. We are replacing it with an existing 25m match from the Bianchi Cup group of matches – the Unsupported Standard Match. The course of fire is here. This will mean a new record score will be set at the Phoenix; it also means all four stages of the Bianchi will be shot on Butt 0 which will make it easier for competitors and the Range Officers.
The 100 yds match on Century (part of the 100/200/300 yds events) will be scored differently this year – on completion of the 100 yds stage, shots will be marked with spotting discs for 25 seconds, and scores will be read back to the Firing Point, providing immediate feedback to competitors. The 200 and 300 yds are already marked back after each shot. In addition, competitors will be squadded at each distance.
There was an error in the 2015 GR & P Handbook for Sporting Rifle Statics (event 5685). Click here for the match conditions, please note the weight limit is 6.5 kgs all up this year.
Another new event at the Phoenix is the Practical Pistol Match, to be shot on Sunday only. This is limited to 40 shooters, details of the classes and other match conditions can be found on the entry form or by clicking here.
We look forward to receiving your entry very soon.
